Hundreds of people from the Irish healthcare sector attended the annual awards ceremony to enjoy the unique combination of a wonderful social occasion and the winners' announcements. It was a well-deserved occasion after two years of a pandemic, the sector was in need of a celebrate of their achievements. The Irish Healthcare Centre Awards always aims to shine a spotlight on the fantastic work being done by Irish Healthcare professionals. This year’s event was our biggest to date in terms of applications. So many in fact that for the first time, several Honourable Mentions awards were given out, to those who came second in the larger categories.
There were also two new categories, recognising the Covid-19 pandemic and the impact it had on organisations. These awards recognised the excellent and tireless work done by so many in the sector, and how well they responded under such immense pressure.
The event was packed with emotion as winners were stunned and elated when their names were called. What was equally encouraging was the obvious and genuine support shown by all the finalists in the room for the ultimate winners.
The MC for the evening was none other than the Rose of Tralee host himself, Dáithí Ó Sé, and after a wonderful dinner, he initiated proceedings for the 2022 awards. The winning teams packed the stage to collect their prestigious award and be interviewed by Dáithí. The night was a rollercoaster of emotions, and most winners felt the win would give their team a little extra spring in their step for the year ahead.
The final award of the evening was the Healthcare Person of the Year, and this year the award went to someone who showed strength and leadership during the last 2 years of the Covid-19 pandemic, whose aim was to protect the healthcare system, advise government on the hard decisions that needed to be made and indeed so much more. The winner received an emotional standing ovation from the audience on the night. Click below to see who won this prestigious award
After the awards, the evening finished up with music and dancing into the early hours and the atmosphere was of fun, pride and camaraderie. All winners and finalists went away with a framed certificate to bring back to their teams to display proudly.
On behalf of CMG Events, thank you to everyone who took part, including judges, applicants, the Royal Marine Hotel, and of course thank you all in the healthcare community for such positive encouragement and amazing feedback, and for all the great messages of support for the awards online and on social media.
